My Truths
I am a multimedia journalist, currently working as an editor at WBBM. I am passionate about all forms of journalism: broadcast, digital, print and multimedia.
I am constantly looking for new ways to tell stories that matter. I would love to connect, please look through my recent works and contact me at anytime.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
My Roles & Responsibilities
WBBM
Current Role
I am the social & community editor for WBBM Newsradio Chicago. I am responsible for executing all social media content as well as creating community based reporting initiatives.
BLOOMBERG NEWS
2020
I worked as a social media editor for Bloomberg news. In this role I curated the breaking news desk and Instagram platform for Bloomberg's main social accounts. I also produced all social content for LinkedIn and across both Green and Technology channels.
THE ECONOMIST
2019
I worked as a social media fellow for The Economist. In this role, I helped create, produced and scheduled social media content across all platforms. I also produced films, help run Facebook discussion groups, occasionally curated our daily newsletter and strategized digital storytelling projects.
NOWTHIS
2018
Through the Reynolds Journalism Institute's Innovation Fellowship, I worked with the NowThis Reports team to produce long-form story content and find new storytelling methods. I also produced videos for various channels.
GLOBAL JOURNALIST
2017
I worked as an assistant producer for the radio show. I edited and produced film packages and wrote content for our online publication.
PBS
2017
I worked as a multimedia intern at Flatland, KCPT's digital magazine. Here I created multimedia packages and used investigative reporting to cover underreported topics in the Kansas City area.
EURACTIV
2017
I worked as a multimedia intern. I filmed, edited and produced film packages covering the European Union. I also covered protests and wrote news articles.
THE MISSOURI URBAN JOURNALISM WORKSHOP
Summer 2016
I worked as an editor and mentor for incoming freshmen students. I taught students the basics of broadcast journalism. I wrote, filmed and edited broadcast packages.
NPR
Summer 2013, 2015
I worked as an intern and learned the fundamentals of radio journalism. I logged audio, conducted interviews, recorded and edited radio clips, filed numerous articles and designed layouts.

Here I answered this question, while using KCPT's CuriousKC community engagement platform. I also created an interactive map to compare and contrast school demographics in the Kansas City Public School District.

Hotels Aim to Goose Demand With Rooms That Look Like Netflix Sets
The U.S. hotel industry closed 2020 with a whopping 1 billion empty rooms for the year. I wrote about one hotel in Lexington, Ky., that hopes its Netflix inspired room will inspire travelers.

I wrote this online piece which looks at the swiftness of stacking the courts with conservative judges and how this will ultimately shift the American judiciary to the right for years to come.

I followed retired nurse, Julia Walsh, as she marched with her three girls who grew up to become a doctor, a lawyer and a teacher, at the 2018Â NYC Women's March.

Minimum wages soar across Europe in bid to curb social inequality
This story focuses on the increase of minimum wages in most EU countries last year in an effort to redress social dumping.

This story covered Chicago's taxing of services such as Netflix and Spotify. I helped research, interview and produce this segment which voices the wonder of residents throughout the city.

The Caregiver’s Perspective On Alzheimer’s In Our Community
This story focuses on the Caregiver's Perspective of Alzheimers. I interviewed various families afflicted with this disease throughout the Kansas City area and created a multimedia package to localize a national run documentary.
